This garden originally had an in ground pool and very divided space. The clients gave me creative freedom to choose the concept for this space after expressing their functional and ideal garden needs. They wanted to have a nice place to sit and eat, space for lounging and a view through the corner of the lot. The creation and location of the bench is what centers the garden design. I wanted everything to flow around the bench and have the bench be the focal point from the interior of the house. It is often that a single moment or element directs the rest of the garden areas of function and elements in my garden designs.
